Best Wireless Headphones for DJs – The Top Models And Why You Should Always Have a Backup Wired Pair

As an amateur DJ, I’ve learned having the best wireless headphones can be a god-send for not having to deal with the tangling of cables while moving about the booth. On the other hand, connectivity issues, dead batteries, and lower sound quality can make me hesitant to use them during an important gig.

Ultimately, I’ve learned that investing in a quality pair of the best wireless headphones is worth it but to always have a backup wired pair on standby in case something happens.

I’ve bought and tested several of the best wireless headphones, in the over-the-ear category. Here are the results of my research and my top three (3) most recommended pairs for the aspiring or working DJ.

Best Wireless Headphones I Recommend for DJs:

3.Sennheiser Urbanite XL Wireless, Black

Sennheiser is an underrated brand for headphones, as I’ve written about in other posts. This German manufacturer delivers the precision engineering and design that you’d expect from the same country that makes BMWs.

I really enjoy using these in my home music studio for their rich sound and comfortable feel. They are also excellent for long flights.

The Urbanite XLs feature:

  • Bluetooth 4.0
  • NFC
  • Voice Prompts
  • 3-way calling
  • 25 hours of listening time
  • 13 days of standby time
  • Intuitive touch controls on ear cup

2.BÖHM Wireless Bluetooth Over Ear Cushioned Headphones with Active Noise Cancelling – B76

Bohm is a lesser known brand that delivers excellent value for the price. This pair offers active noise cancelling features without the premium pricing you’d see on a pair from Beats or Bose.

This is a great all-around pair of wireless headphones that have:

  • Bluetooth 4.0
  • Comfortable, fluffy cushioned ear pads
  • Built-in volume control
  • 8 hours of noise cancellation
  • 16 hours of music listening time
  • Foldable design, convenient for traveling

1.Sennheiser RS 175 RF Wireless Headphone System

I’ve recommended these in my 2017 Guide to Wireless Headphones and they make the top spot for DJs as well. The aesthetics, the comfort level, the Bass Boost, Virtual Surround Sound…oh man. I really recommend this pair for not just DJs but anyone who is in the market for over-the-ear wireless headphones. Yes, they come with a high price, but they are worth every single penny. They will not become obsolete anytime soon.

Before reading the features, just look at them. They look like a spaceship.

Key features on the RS 175 are the:

  • 330 ft Bluetooth range
  • Bass Boost (selectable) feature
  • Virtual Surround Sound (GREAT for movies)
  • Digital and Analog inputs
  • Transmitter station that supports TWO sets of headphones SIMULTANEOUSLY. That means you and your significant other can watch the same movie, both wearing headphones, and not wake the neighbors.
