Headphones for DJs: The Best of 2017 – A Complete Buyer’s Guide

It’s 2017 and time to stop messing around with your cheap, crappy DJ headphones. It’s worth it to invest in a high quality pair!

However, not all DJ headphones are created equal. It is easy to get overwhelmed by the hundreds of options out there. It is also easy to get ripped off.

That’s why I’ve done the work for you by researching, buying, and extensively field testing the 10 most popular pairs of reputable DJ headphones.┬áThis buyer’s guide is the result.

In my journey to find the best DJ headphones of 2017 (I narrowed it down to five), I learned:

  • High price doesn’t always equal high quality
  • Comfort is underrated. These things sit over your ears for hours!
  • Cord quality is also underrated.
  • Wireless is great, but having a quality wired backup pair can save you.
  • Some high priced DJ headphones are worth every penny in the long run.
  • Some low priced DJ headphones are worth every penny in the long run.
  • I really like Nero. (What else was I going to test these headphones with?!?!)

With all that being said, here are the results of my testing.

5.Sennheiser HD 25 Professional DJ Headphone with SLAPPA SL-HP-07 HardBody PRO Case

Sennheiser is a solid brand. You really can’t go wrong with any of their headphones. The HD 25s are geared towards DJs, though. This is a solid, mid-range choice. In fact, I kept a pair of these because I trust them to never have issues, and the sound quality and comfort are top notch.

They feature:

  • Highly sensitive aluminum voice coils
  • Lightweight and comfortable design (seriously comfortable…I wore them for 5 hours straight once with no issues)
  • Detachable and rugged cord
  • Rotatable ear capsule for single-ear listening
  • Protective case for transport
